To: Jeremy Hunt
Sustainable Energy For All NHS Hospitals.
Rather than wind down some NHS hospitals &/or departments to save costs, I would strongly urge Jeremy Hunt & the Conservative party to campaign for every NHS hospital, surgery, practice, etc, to have their own sustainable energy sources such as solar or wind. Also, water saving measures such as composting toilets that turn waste into biomass gas, waterless urinals, & any other appropriate water &/or energy saving solutions. Essentially, eco-hospitals that are largely &/or completely off grid. This would all massively reduce energy costs for the NHS. The savings made in the long term could be pumped back into other vital areas of the NHS.
Why is this important?
This is an issue that I have thought of myself, but it must be seriously considered. For the long term sustainable future of the NHS, the NHS must be more ecologically powered in order to save money & to reduce the NHS's environmental impact.
