Take My Blood

Allow sexually active gay men to donate blood through the NHS.

Why is this important?

The stigma toward gay men regarding HIV and Aids, is outdated and no longer practical. The NHS need people to donate blood, people should not be exempt due to their sexual preferences. The risk of infection is equally real to us all; the reason that more gay men are diagnosed with HIV, is simply because more gay men get tested for HIV than hetrosexual men do. Hetrosexual men in GUM clinics are 10% less likely to agree to a HIV test than a gay male is (Source: Public Health England (PHE) (2015) ‘HIV in the UK: situation report 2015’).

Let everyone donate blood for the life saving operations it's used for.
