Traffic lights in Newton-le-Willows

Install traffic lights at the junction of Park Road North and High Street.

Why is this important?

I live on the Wargrave estate which is hemmed in by three Railway Bridges, the only way out is via Park Road, Vulcan Village and Wargrave Road bridges. The road out through the Vulcan is very narrow and the bridge there is very narrow with bad visibility. Also with all the extra houses that are being built on the Vulcan Site there is a lot more traffic.

The money to provide these lights is already there from the developer of the old Vulcan site and is available until 2021.

Please take action now and install the traffic lights.

The Council because of the future development of the Parkside site, would like our area to go onto the A49 via the Vulcan Village, Alder Root Lane and Hollins Lane to the A49. This a very bad idea when you see all the traffic coming from Burtonwood. They do not want to impede the flow on the A49 with these new lights, but then there will be more traffic lights at the new bus station at the railway station on Mill Lane.
