Why should the NHS pay for e-cigarettes?

Expecting the NHS to pay for e-cigarettes to help smokers kick the habit is just ridiculous. Basically, if you can afford to smoke, you can afford to buy an e-cigarette starter kit. In fact, they will pay for themselves in a few weeks because they are so much cheaper than real cigarettes. Yes, smokers should be encouraged to change to e-cigarettes but expecting the NHS to pay...a great big NO!
