Please Support Out Of Hours Provision at Selby War Memorial HospitalThe reason for this we have to travel inordinate distances to receive care. This is unsustainable because Selby is fast growing conurbation and, as such, the town requires, as a minimum level of service, a Minor Injuries Clinic and out of hours Doctors' surgery.969 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by paula walter

MargateSave East Kent Hospitals' ServicesThe East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUNHSFT) is responsible for five hospitals across East Kent. In a recent meeting with the interim CEO of the trust, Chris Bown, 38 Degrees members learned that A&E and maternity services were at risk of closure. He stated that “current provision is unsustainable in East Kent”. He warned that there will be proposals released early next year that will be "radical and substantial". He added that the proposals will be "politically controversial" and that he fully expected public protest. A&E and maternity services were highlighted as particularly vulnerable. Chris Bown’s previous six month appointment at Stafford Hospital resulted in the loss of the hospital’s A&E and consultant led maternity services. He has been given a twelve month contract at EKHUNHSFT to carry out similar cuts. It would be totally unacceptable to close or cut any of Kent’s A&E departments in Ashford, or Thanet They serve a large and growing population and the closure of one, let alone two, would result in greatly increased journey times leading to unnecessary deaths. Likewise, retaining the existing consultant led maternity services at all sites is essential for the safety of mothers and new born babies. Closure of any of the existing services will place unmanageable strain on the rest of East Kent’s health provision. The safety of East Kent residents cannot be allowed to be compromised in this way.304 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Maria Pizzey

LondonSave our local surgery - BalhamThe surgery currently serves over 4000 patients in our local area. The one GP we have left at the surgery is struggling to attract younger doctors to work at the practice, mainly because the premises needs modernising and developing. This will require an investment of funds from NHS England or from a benevolent property developer. Our GP is reluctant to move but feels she has no choice. If there is no money to develop the premises, the proposal is to merge with a 7000 patient surgery on the other side of town. I feel there is so much to lose if this move should take place, especially the loss of community, which I think will never recover once it has been lost3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Des Figueiredo

PortsmouthSave the Guildhall Walk GP Surgery Walk-In CentreThe Guildhall Walk Walk-In Centre is facing a possible closure due to a decision by health bosses to move the walk-in service to St Marys Hospital. It would be a tragedy if the Guildhall Walk Walk-In Centre is closed down as St Mary's already struggles to provide a service for people with minor injuries and waiting times are often long. The Guildhall Walk Walk-In Centre is very successful and is well used 8am - 8pm, 365 days a year and is available to everyone who wants to see a doctor fairly urgently but can't get in to see their registered GP. If we lose this, we will lose a well-established service and it will be much more difficult to get to see a Doctor urgently in the future. Please sign the petition and Save this Walk-In Centre. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/p/emergencydoctors1,825 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Nick Courtney

WythenshaweSave Wythenshawe Hospital's General SurgeryThe proposed move of these services will have a detrimental effect to the people of South Manchester. Consultants and medical staff have raised their concerns over the new proposal and believe that it will have a knock on effect to the care provided in A&E and also other areas of the hospital such as Maternity and paediatrics, cardiothoracics and heart transplant. My son was treated at Wythenshawe hospital for a ruptured appendix by the general surgeons had this service not been available we would have had to wait for a transfer to the MRI by ambulance which would have been life threatening to him. As someone who uses these services and lives in the surrounding area it is vital that these services are kept at wythenshawe hospital keeping the health and safety of the people of South Manchester and Trafford at the forefront. Would you like to go to an A&E department only to be told your life threatening condition could not be treated there and you would have to wait to be transferred to a different hospital? I wouldn't ! People of South Manchester we have until the 15th July to voice our concerns when the Healthier Together Programme will either reject or comission this proposal ! NHS SAFE STAFFING = SAFE PATIENTSOn 4th June NHS England asked the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to suspend its programme on safe staffing in the NHS. The capacity for independent review of researched evidence on safe staffing, provided by NICE and called for by Sir Robert Francis in his Mid Staffs report, has been discarded. We need you to sign this petition today! REVERSE THE DECISION RT HON JEREMY HUNT! AFTER THE GREAT WORK THAT JEREMY HUNT HAS CHAMPIONED FOR PATIENT SAFETY IN THE NHS, MANY ARE SHOCKED AND SURPRISED AT THIS DEVELOPMENT. Sir Robert Francis QC who led the Public Inquiry into the Disaster at Mid Staffs has spoken out in concern by releasing a press statement and said, “While there is nothing wrong, and indeed everything to be said, for NHS England reviewing staffing levels, I specifically recommended the work which NICE has been undertaking for a reason, namely, they have an evidence-based and analytical approach. NICE also has an advantage not enjoyed by NHS England of being independent. It is important to establish practical guidance, based on the needs of patients, which will enable providers, commissioners and service users alike to understand whether a particular service is safely staffed.” Julie Bailey founder of ‘Cure the NHS’ says: “It is critical that this work is done independently. We cannot allow this important work to be sabotaged. We have all waited too long for this already. Our fear is that the guidance will be based on cost and not evidence, anymore. Removing NICE from this critical work in our opinion is a step backwards for patient and staff safety.” This is about making sure patients are safe in our A&E departments. It’s about making sure that vulnerable people receive safe care when treated at home or are discharged from hospital into our communities. For years Julie Bailey CBE and the group she formed with the Mid Staffs families’ Cure the NHS’ campaigned for Safe Staffing levels on our NHS wards and eventually won the fight for a Public Inquiry. The result was the Francis report which exposed the deaths and suffering of hundreds of people. The report produced a massive 290 recommendations, which changed the landscape of our NHS for the better, to keep ourselves and our families safe. Julie’s mum died because the NHS centrally driven target approach put finances before safe care. She worked tirelessly for the rights of patients to receive safe care, losing her home and her café business in the process. Again Julie is fighting this campaign to make sure the NHS has enough staff to make care safe. Please sign the petition.3,194 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Jade Taylor

BeverleySave Beverley and Molescroft SurgerySited amongst a large residential estate and amongst growing housing estates The Beverley and Molescroft Surgery provides care for wide ranging population in Beverley as well as the outlying villages. While more homes are being built in the area, the closure of this surgery and all the facilities it offers there will result in a lack of care provision for the new homes, not to mention the lives of the patients whom Drs Clayton and Williams currently effectively care for . Both doctors have contributed to the NHS provision beyond running the practice and because of the changes within the system their efforts have been reduced. Thus the change in the NHS system is impacting other areas within the town and surrounding areas. NHS Cuts and Government influence on new policies within the NHS has directly impacted the service the surgery on Lockwood Road is able to offer.799 of 800 SignaturesCreated by M Horst

TruroStop The Royal Cornwall Hospital sell offCurrently two very vital depatments are under threat of being privatised. Sterile Services who ensure that all the instruments and medical devices used in the trust and throughout the county in GP surgeries, minor injury units etc are sterilised to a very high standard. Also the IT department who are responsible for all patient data and all computer systems that are used in the trust. Do you want a private company having all your personal medical data? I for one do not!. It is important that the people of Cornwall get the service that they deserve. This is your NHS!7,230 of 8,000 SignaturesCreated by colin basford

Sutton ColdfieldSave Good Hope HospitalMany patients are very anxious about the future of their local hospital, particularly after various media disclosures, including the announcement that 1,000 beds in hospitals across the city (of Birmingham) are due to be axed! Our campaign group, Save Good Hope’s Local Services, brings together local people who use and care very much about our local hospital, Good Hope, in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. We are independent of any political party and are campaigning to stop the closure of key departments at our hospital. Closures of key departments at Good Hope Hospital could be the start of a slippery slope: in many areas of England, hospitals have already either been downgraded or even closed. One of our main aims, as stated in an earlier petition, has recently been successfully achieved. A public meeting to discuss the Trust’s proposals finally having being held in October, after much campaigning! And now we are calling for people across Birmingham to say NO to the closure of key departments at the hospital. These were revealed in the Trust's document (before the consultations had even finished!) as the following: 1. The transfer of Trauma FROM Good Hope to Heartlands Hospital; 2. The transfer of Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Colorectal Surgery FROM Good Hope to Heartlands and Solihull, both great distances to travel for many people and particularly difficult for carers and those they care for, the elderly, very young and disabled. In response to concern already expressed by many people at the ongoing consultations regarding transport, the Trust have suggested the equivalent of `taxi’ ambulances so to speak. But who would pay for this? Even if it was to be the Trust, how long would they actually pay before saying they had run out of funds? Would patients then be expected to pay, including those from other areas even further out, such as Tamworth & Lichfield? The Heart Of England Trust has been reported in the media as being the highest earning Trust IN THE COUNTRY from car parking charges, netting an annual profit of nearly £4million! At the public meeting, one of our campaigners asked the Trust why and if that money could be used to help keep our hospital services local? At present, it is obvious that this Trust STILL lacks openness, transparency and empathy with patients. They need to really start to `think like a patient’, because at the moment, they don’t.2,416 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by good hope hospital save good hope's local services
