To: Theresa May

Theresa May remedy the dire situation in Gaza as the “Great March of Return ” are demanding

implement a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel and

promote an end to the illegal siege of Gaza and alleviate the suffering of its population.

and publicly attest

1) that the Gaza refugee families have the universal right of all human beings to return to their homes and towns nearby in Israel from which they fled in 1948.

2) that the same refugee families were terrorised into leaving Historic Palestine in 1948 whilst Britain was the Responsible Power in Palestine and afterwards denied return by the Israeli army at the border then and every day of the 70 years since then.

Why is this important?

Amnesty International argues that:

“The time for symbolic statements of condemnation is now over. The international community must act concretely and stop the delivery of arms and military equipment to Israel. A failure to do so will continue to fuel serious human rights abuses against thousands of men, women and children suffering the consequences of life under Israel’s cruel blockade of Gaza.

These people are merely protesting their unbearable conditions and demanding the right to return to their homes and towns in what is now Israel.”

The Israeli Defence Minister, Avigdor Lieberman shockingly said on Israeli public radio that there are “no innocent people in Gaza”.

Benjamin Netanyahu , Prime Minister of Israel , tells his own people through Israel’s school curriculum and media and UK and Western political leaders through Israel’s Foreign Office website, that the Palestinian people were newcomers who came to Palestine in the years before the creation of Israel in 1948/9 . He argues that therefore the refugees have no logical reason to want to return to Israel but want only to do so to “destroy Israel”. In fact the Palestinian people had lived and thrived in Palestine for hundreds of years until they were driven out in 1948/9 and have yearned to return home in what is now Israel, from the day they left.
Benjamin Netanyahu called the demonstrators “those who want to destroy Israel”.
