Ban outdoor advertising in London

Ban outdoor advertising in London

Sadiq Khan should either ban or restrict outdoor advertising in the capital.

Why is this important?

We're calling on Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to follow his fellow Mayors in Sao Paulo and Grenoble and take action to ban outdoor advertising - or, at very least, place restrictions on it (in the same way that there are restrictions on other things that have harmful effects). We welcome his intervention on sexist advertising, but we're asking him to go further; Sadiq has pledged to take action against air-pollution in the Capital: will he take action to protect Londoners from harmful visual-pollution too?

Because advertising sh*ts in your head.

Reasons for signing

  • Imagining outdoor space without obnoxious ads everywhere!
  • To not be confronted with giant adverts telling people how they should be, and what they need to buy to be like that, every single day, would have a profound effect on Londoners. They might even stop rushing about in their never ending pursuit of the consumer dragon and enjoy their lives for a moment instead of just working themselves into the ground.
  • Hope this gets recognised across the country too!
