DALMAHOY TRAFFIC LIGHTS NEEDED

It is with a happy heart that I report that the petition is now at its final point....

We are going to have Traffic Lights at the Dalmahoy entrance!

Thank you thank you again because without you all we would never have got this far.

You all did this with your signatures and we won.

Dear Edinburgh Council after 15 yrs of reporting that lives are in danger with cars trying to get out of Dalmahoy Golf Course / Hotel and Country Club and Ratho (nearest village) on the opposite side of the main A71 from Edinburgh to Kilmarnock.

Why is this important?

Exit from Dalmahoy and Ratho (road opposite) onto A71 is life threatening and one day someone will die and then it will be too late.
An offer of a SLOW DOWN sign is not good enough after 15 yrs of complaining.The morning rush hour traffic is horrendous with no one giving way and the cars pile up the roads on either side.
Maybe someone could just try this out and see how they feel risking their lives just trying to get home.

How it will be delivered

Will wait until I feel I have enough people behind me then I can get an interview and email the signatures whatever feels necessary when that happens.
After 15 yrs they are needing to see we mean business NOW!

Hi Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to you all.
Wish I had some news to tell you but I have had no contact with the Council and can only wait until they make their decision which I sincerely hope will be in our favour in the New Year. Not very long ago we were nearly hit with a white car coming out the Ratho road. The driver never even looked to see if anyone was driving along the main road A71. He just missed us as we saw him and swerved to avoid another statistic US !!! and our car. Please stay safe drive safe over the Christmas period and keep your spirits up ha ha.

Hi everyone just a quick update....
The A71 was blocked again with all the traffic coming over from the Highland Show and moving was so frustrating so how anyone got out Dalmahoy I do not know.
Last week there was another accident it seems involving a private taxi and the M8 had a fatality so where did all the traffic go when the road was blocked off yes you guessed right the A71 yet again so in the last few weeks there has been 4 incidences .
What more can I say as nothing has changed just more accidents and delays.
If anyone has or seen an accident feel free to let me know as I am sure I miss a lot of them.
Not seen any signatures for a while so maybe another jog to remind them all please.

Hi Everyone,
March is now upon us and the big day is the 17th.
The Report has to be on line by the 12th so here we are at last with bated breath awaiting this very important decision.
Whatever way it goes it will be a shock but I do hope it will be in our favour.
I am now imagining the traffic lights every time I go past in the bus and looking at the poor drivers trying to get onto the A71 as they do everyday coming out of Dalmahoy risking their lives.
We all deserve this safety that the lights could bring all 1942 of us but it will be only the Edinburgh residents that will be counted but believe me I totally appreciate all of you that took the time to sign this petition and the little messages that were left.
We can only wait now.

I am going to try and get a photo to put up and ask for traffic lights but failing that I will ask for all of us to have traffic lights put up like they have done at the junction for Kirknewton and that was superb.
