We need Leicestershire County Council to install a pedestrian crossing for the children & parents to cross safely to & from school. This area has become much more hazardous for everybody since the development of The Crescent & is highly dangerous. This isn't limited to school children & is needed for everyone.

Why is this important?

This is very important because it is very dangerous & extremely busy. A mother with a child in a pushchair already had an accident there & there is nowhere safe to cross at all. I am sure if they don't do this soon, there could even be fatalities.

Reasons for signing

  • It is dangerous to cross. I have children that's hard enough let alone when I have the dog as well. I had to chaperone a disabled lady over. Need a couple in that area really.
  • This school is a primary school which means children as young as 4 are walking to school here. They should be taught to wait at a safe crossing to get to school so that they know where to cross and won't just dive into the road. In order to cross the road in the morning you have to rely on kind drivers to stop and wave you over.. however if one car waves you over there's still a chance that the cars coming the other way won't stop.
  • Dumb planners can afford hi tech signs and billboards and waste money on concrete pillars on the crescent but cannot afford a crossing? Go figure?
