To: The Prime Minister of the U.K

Protect the rights of E.U citizens living in the UK

Keep the rights, benefits, job security, access to healthcare, access to schools, access to all public services, voting rights, higher education fees and freedom of movement from their home countries to Britain of all E.U. citizens currently living in the U.K. the same as they were before the referendum.

Why is this important?

There is much fear and uncertainty in a post-Brexit world, especially for E.U citizens who are currently living in the U.K. They have built our country, contributed to our economy, taken care of our elderly, taught us, healed us, loved us, started families with us, become our friends and colleagues.

They have given so much to us, now we must do the same for them. The only difference between U.K. citizens living here and E.U. citizens living here is a passport, therefore their rights should be protected with absolutely no change.

A step towards victory:

The Labour motion on EU migrants 'right to remain' passed the Commons vote by a huge majority!
However, the motion is non-binding, so there is still much work to do. But small and encouraging steps...

Two bits of exciting news!

Firstly, the petition has been featured in the Independent! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/url-brexit-petition-immigration-eu-citizens-in-uk-what-happens-freedom-of-movemen-a7119291.html

The second is, Migrants Rights Network are hosting a Q&A session on what's next for EU citizens living in the U.K. - for anyone interested here is the link - http://www.migrantsrights.org.uk/news/2016/qa-session-brexit-whats-next-eu-nationals-uk

Wow! Nearly 50'000 signatures. This is amazing; I'm currently in the process of getting in touch with various politicians and newspapers to get this cause the attention it deserves.

One thing we can do in the meantime is lobby. Write to our MPs and tell them how important this issue is, and how we need them to bring it to the House of Commons. An easy way to do this is to go to Www.writetothem.com - a site which allows you to write to your political representatives.

Let's keep up the incredible work,

Love and solidarity,

Ruth
