Improving Lea Village Park

Class 10DH from Hallmoor School have been spending a lot of time in Lea Village Park. We have done several litter picks to try to make it a better place, and we would like the council to do more to help us to keep it clean and tidy. We have also noticed that the paths aren’t fully accessible, and that there are no wheelchair accessible rides in the playground. We would like you to add accessible equipment, possibly a wheelchair swing to the park, and would like you to think about the possibility of gym equipment as well.

Why is this important?

Lea Village park is an important resource for the whole community to share and to be proud of. We have tried to do our own bit to make it better but we can’t do it alone. Having pupils in our school that rely on wheelchairs, it is important to us that the park is accessible to all of us and that they aren’t excluded from trips to the park. We would like to see the park used to its full extent by all local people. We are happy to do some fundraising of our own to help with this cause.

How it will be delivered

We will deliver the petition in person to Birmingham City Council based on an invitation from our local councillors.
