KEEP HOLLINS VIEW OPEN

19/12/2014: At a Cabinet meeting on 9 December, the Leader of Cheshire East Council, Michael Jones announced that Hollins View would stay open until December 2015. We are overjoyed with the news, but know that this is only a temporary measure and the service is still under threat. However, without your help the service would have already been lost.

We are closing the petition now and hope to start again in 2015 to try to ensure that this valuable facility stays open.

KEEP HOLLINS VIEW OPEN

Please don't close Hollins View Community Support Centre.
Protect services for older and vulnerable people.

Why is this important?

Hollins View provides residential respite and short-term breaks. Intermediate Care beds for people leaving hospital and day care services to over 400 people a year. Cheshire East plans to close Hollins View and transfer care to the Private Sector. There is already a shortage of care beds in Macclesfield and the closure of Hollins View could result in people having to travel out of the area, or for some people, no help at all.
Carers save Cheshire East thousands of pounds a year caring for their loved ones 24 hours a day seven days a week and sometimes need a break to enable them to carry on caring. If Hollins View closes they could be left unsupported. This service is vital to Carers and to their loved ones.
SEND A MESSAGE TO THE LEADERS AT CHESHIRE EAST COUNCIL AND DAVID RUTLEY MP THAT HOLLINS VIEW IS A VITAL AND NECESSARY SERVICE AND MUST NOT CLOSED.

How it will be delivered

we will deliver them in person

Reasons for signing

  • My Mum went to respite in Handforth regularly when we were away as she didn't like to stay at home alone. She loved the change and made lots of friends of her own generation. She died nearly 7 years ago. Shortly afterwards they closed the facility. I just thank God it didn't close before she died as I don't know what we would have done. These facilities are so very important, not only to the cared for, but the Carers.
  • There are not enough after care facilities within the area. Why give the funds to the private sector and not have the ability to monitor their care. There is plenty of private facilities (some under investigation for poor care).!!!!!
  • Because my Taid went there for a while and don't know what we would have done otherwise... <3
