SAY NO to a Phone Mast at Frith Youth Centre, Nr Bussage Children's Playground and Skate Park

Say NO to the 24M phone mast at the Frith Youth Centre, in keeping with charitable aims to 'provide health mentally [and] physically to the youth of the community'.

Why is this important?

Not only will a 24M metal phone mast have a negative visual impact on the countryside surrounding the Frith Youth Centre which has been given the status of an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty," the unsightly mast will create significant health concerns especially to young people.

"At present, legislation by many governments prevents anyone objecting to the location of base stations on health grounds, and they have been advised not to recognise the problem... The problem is far more serious than anyone has previously imagined." Andrew Goldsworthy BSc PhD

A government commissioned study called the 'Stewart Report' (2005-9) states, "masts should not impact where children are exposed, like playgrounds,' therefore the proposed phone mast will go against the government's own advice and the centre's charitable aim which states..."Providing health mentally [and] physically to the young people of the community."

As in days past, the use of type 2b Carcinogens such as DDT asbestos and lead were overlooked by the government, today the World Health Organisation has given RF pollution from phone masts the same status of 'Group 2b.... Carcinogen' which puts families, especially children, in harm's way. http://www.iarc.fr/en/media-centre/pr/2011/pdfs/pr208_E.pdf

Turning a blind eye on RF dangers is unconscionable as they do exist and have been repeatedly proven in peer-reviewed scientific studies on EMF related subjects, see :- http://www.powerwatch.org.uk/science/studies.asp
Also :- https://www.emfanalysis.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/EHS-Letter-from-Dr-Andrew-Tresidder.pdf

It is a well known fact that cancer clusters develop over time as reported in the widely distributed documentary 'Resonance - Beings of Frequency' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h59ONN2hJ_k&t=329s

The very people the centre was built to serve, young people, children and their families, will be discouraged from using the pleasure ground and the youth centre facilities. The mast would detract from the quality and amenities of the area and devalue the surrounding property.

The 'Conservation Area' status of the land where it's planned to be erected will also be affected as the fragile wildlife and pollinators that need our protection will be harmed too. Barrie Trower, a British physicist and former microwave weapons expert for the Royal Navy who was trained at the "Government Microwave Warfare Establishment" warns that our endangered bees cannot withstand the harsh frequencies a mast would emit and cites studies that have shown deformities in wildlife that occur nearby these masts. See @ 28 mins- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhcuSEHVOSM&t=1642s Barrie talks about the dangers of our wireless society and explains the technology behind it.

Mobile phone reception is not an issue for the majority of the local population. The mast will destroy a bastion of microwave frequency free land for young children and the natural world to thrive, let's keep it a safe haven for the health of generations to come.

Andrew Goldsworthy BSc PhD is an Honorary Lecturer in Biology at Imperial
College London and suggests " it would be advisable to call for a moratorium on the further expansion of these wireless ‘services’ ...... until safer means of mobile wireless communications are devised." http://www.vws.org/documents/Cell-Project-Documents/DrGoldsworthyonphonemasts.pdf

This equipment is being rolled out without proper consultation. What price are we willing to pay for faster data? Not our children's health!

In addition, public sector landowners who are also trustees and members of the Parish Council in favour of the mast, have democratic responsibilities to the residents with regards to land where a contentious use is proposed, therefore a public meeting is called for.

Similar plans in Painswick were recently rejected for similar reasons with a fair and just public consultation.

For these reasons REJECT The Frith Youth Centre mobile phone mast plans !

TAKE ACTION: Please email your objections before the 15th of August to :
[email protected] Thank you.

AMENDMENT TO PETITION: To members of the Parish Council / Trustees of Frith Youth Centre.

With reference to the proposed phone mast REF:S.17/1342/TEL it is your responsibility to assess the dangers that the microwave frequencies will emit 24/7 on the local population. Microwave Frequencies seriously affect DNA and cell structure. Should this installation ever involve the 5G network, this becomes an even more serious issue. Sufficient evidence has been provided that shows the frequencies generated by this tower will pose serious health problems to those in it's vicinity.

Sadly, it appears that the public has been deceived. It has come to our attention that private land was dismantled and trespassed by the installation company who commenced work before the official date that Stroud Council made their decision of approval being the 8th of August. The workers reported "it's a done deal." Should the decision be made to continue to install the mast, we reserve the right to serve a notice of intention to prosecute the individuals responsible.

The Trustees and Parish Councillors responsibilities apply not only to the land but to the potential detrimental effects that the mast will have on members of the public to whom they have an obligation to protect and serve. Their duty of care can not be excused by current legislation. Sufficient evidence previously presented shows beyond any reasonable doubt that the proposed installation is most certainly detrimental to the health of the local residents. Again, we therefore reserve the right to serve a notice of intention to prosecute if deemed necessary.

Thank you to all who have signed to protect our environment so far. Considering there has been no public consultation it's been up to those concerned to inform friends and fellow residents. Reaching the 100th signature mark is quite an achievement in such a short time and it can be added to the 150 signatures from another petition requesting the same outcome.

Since starting this petition a member of the public's property has been trespassed (before Stroud Council's decision date) by a company employed to install the phone mast where work commenced when a worker reported 'it's a done deal.' THE PUBLIC HAS BEEN DELIBERATELY DECEIVED. We have therefore amended and updated the petition with a notice of the right of intention to prosecute those in trust of the land whose use is in contention if a decision is made to give permission to continue to install the mast.
