I used a CND campaign to ask General Election candidates to oppose Trident. My MP Gregg Clark replied promptly saying he did not agree, as I already new. I have not and do not plan to follow up this petition unless the numbers of signatures increase significantly above the 13 it has collected so far.

Nuclear Disarmament in memory of Professor Stephen Hawking
Ask the British parliament to unilaterally (in other words without conditions) nuclear disarm in memory of the popular and great professor. In the same way that Landmines were made illegal after Princess Diana died, in her memory.
Alternatively, ask for a more modest decommissioning of present and future British and British based nuclear submarines. With an ultimate aim to make UK’s relationship in the world peaceful.
Why is this important?
With an ultimate aim to make UK’s relationship in the world peaceful that is be more harmonious with each other and with the environment.
If each nuclear state disarms unconditionally the process can happen without one state breaking another before a peace dividend can go further. Please apply this petition in your own country
There probably is a better way of saying something like this - but Steven Hawking was exceptionally popular probably not least for his use of an electronic voice.
