Petition Wokingham Borough Council to improve its kerbside recycling scheme

We, the undersigned, are calling on Wokingham Borough Council to improve its kerbside recycling scheme. It is regrettable and avoidable that in 2017 we are forced to put recyclable rubbish into the landfill bag. The council should collect glass and all recyclable products like the neighbouring councils and the majority of councils across the country.

Why is this important?

Reducing the amount of rubbish that goes to landfill and encouraging recycling is in everyone's interest. We should be looking after the environment for future generations.

If Windsor and Maidenhead can do it, why can't Wokingham? People should be encouraged to recycle. The facilities are available to recycle these products and Wokingham Borough Council has a moral responsibility to enable people to recycle as much as possible.

Reasons for signing

  • We used to live in Maidenhead and the recycling there was excellent. When we moved to Wokingham it was like going back 20 years. If Windsor and Maidenhead can have a decent recycling service, why can't Wokingham?
  • THE COUNCIL SHOULD COLLECT GLASS AND ALL RECYCLABLE PRODUCTS
  • We need all plastic containers to be recycled, not just bottles!!
