SAVE 40 HEALTHY TREES FROM BEING FELLED IN CASTLEFIELDS PARK

UPDATE: 28/07/16
We campaigned against 38 trees being cut down, and I also wrote to the council planning department, raising a list of issues. They listened, though didn't meet with me, but that led to 23 trees being cut down, rather than 38, so we saved 15 trees! Thank you for your kind support, 38 Degrees staff xx.

Please leave the 40 healthy trees and shrubs standing, and find a less invasive means of repairing a listed wall.Tiny replacement trees are not acceptable when loss of habitat is considered, for buzzards, owls, squirrels, songbirds, turtle doves, bats, and insects.
Planning application 14/12044/TCA.

Why is this important?

Castlefields Park is habitat for buzzards, owls, squirrels, songbirds, turtle doves, bats, and insect life, and mass tree removal will disturb them greatly.
The birds require high trees in which to perch; the trees are a precious asset to the park and the community.
Please sign the petition and also
email your concerns to [email protected].
Thanks.
