Save the broadway

Help the independent traders. Give us the same respect, conditions and parking as the major chain stores in the newly built Epping forest retail park. Stop bullying the small independents by increasing our rents, while the major stores enjoy 3 years free rent.

Why is this important?

Because the Broadway is the heart of Debden and they are driving us out. All that will be left is boarded up shops and cafes. The council as done nothing but lie to us and all they say when we ask for help is "give your keys back"

All the shops on the broadway done a survey and our taking from this time last year are over 30% down. We need the rent reduction that cllr Anne Grigg said she would look into. We need the same 3 hours free parking as the shopping centre. The council say it's normal to give new businesses a rent free period so they can fit the shop but the most anyone got on the Broadway is 6 months. The Epping forest retail park major stores got 3 years. I've asked as it cost me over £40.000 to refit my shop but because I took over a lease I was refused. The major chain stores seem to get it all, I wonder why? Cllr Anne Grigg promised so much but as not done anything and even refuses to come and meet us. http://www.guardian-series.co.uk/news/14648466.Calls_for_rent_reduction_over_shopping_centre_impact__will_be_considered_/?ref=erec
