Reopen Royston (Barnsley) train stationRoyston's train station for passengers closed in 1968. It remains open as a goods line. Almost four thousand people in the local area commute to local cities and alternative public transport is quite poor. All that is needed is a station to be rebuilt but Barnsley Council doesn't seem to think this is important enough to grant funding. The small village of Royston can't cope with the amount of traffic especially now a new junction has been opened to the motorway. Royston needs a train station and reopening this makes perfect sense. It would be more economical for many households and beneficial for the environment. Remember, this is a relatively quick fix for many issues because the line is already in use.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jennifer Barker
