Stand up for NHS funding in Bedford: Richard Fuller

Our NHS needs extra funding urgently. Please represent your constituents by asking health minister Jeremy Hunt and chancellor Philip Hammond for more funding.

Why is this important?

NHS bosses in Bedford are drawing up plans to cut and close local services. The plan is short on detail -but there’s a £311m funding gap for Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Luton. The plan outlines proposed major changes to specialist hospital care in order to ensure those services are 'financially sustainable'. It looks like big changes are on the table.

Cuts and closures aren’t the only option. If the government gave the NHS the money it needs, it’d mean decisions like these could be made with patients in mind, rather than saving money.

We're calling on our MP, Richard Fuller, to stand up for the NHS in Bedford. So far, it doesn’t look like he’s said much. But if thousands of us sign a petition asking him to demand the NHS gets more funding, it’ll show him that he needs to speak out.

Reasons for signing

  • imagine the cost to nhs for transport to MK or Luton for all us elderly without our own transport !!!
  • Whats all this cuts mumbo jumbo about?, when they invade and bomb other countries do they then not remember about these "cuts". Pathetic and useless.
  • These repeated failures and impending crisis means the staff at Bedford Hospital are already openly worried. There is daily talk in the wards of those who have already left and those considering handing in their notice. Following the Brexit vote and changes in staff contracts and pensions what will be left? Tumbleweed??
