STOP COMPANIES FROM SELLING PRODUCTS THAT BELITTLE MENTAL HEALTH

This campaign and petition was picked up by Huffington Post - http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/mental-health-slogan-tees-campaign_uk_59941182e4b00914164150f6 - which caused Pink Boutique, and other online outlets, to stop selling these products that belittle mental health issues.

Congratulations Phil Hill!

STOP COMPANIES FROM SELLING PRODUCTS THAT BELITTLE MENTAL HEALTH

Stop selling products that say 'Cute But Psycho', 'Cute But Psycho But Cute' & 'Crazy But Cute'.

Why is this important?

- It is sending out a message that belittling/mocking mental health/psychopathy is acceptable/funny.
- It is incorrectly educating people on what it means to be a psychopath.
- It is taking a serious mental health disorder, turning it into slang, passing it off as 'fashion' & then making money off that which is immoral/unethical.
- It is not showing mental health the same respect as physical health as these companies would not make clothing that mocks physical health issues.

Reasons for signing

  • Well done Phil for your commitment, it means a lot! I have an anxiety disorder since early childhood and later developed depression and these clothes are an insult and belittle these and many other conditions.
  • ... and it educates young people to consider stupidity, in a desperate attempt to be funny, a cool thing. It's not. Is fashion industry short for creative staff, or what? Because it's obviously short for considerate staff! But it takes intelligence to be either considerate, or creative. Not to mention a combination of both!
