The closing of the petition was preempted by the decision of OfCom to not humour the complainants by punishing or admonishing ITV for the broadcasting of the performance by Diversity. The petition was submitted to OfCom, nonetheless, and I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who signed I have no doubt that the existence of of these various petitions will have influenced OfCom to come to the right decision

Time to deliver it!!

Buglife is delighted to confirm that the London Resort project has officially been terminated. This decision follows a High Court ruling to liquidate London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) due to financial and contractual disputes, bringing an end to a decade of uncertainty and environmental concern. The High Court’s ruling not only signals the definitive end of the London Resort plan but also lifts the shadow of doubt that has loomed over local businesses and the community for years. It ensures that this critical natural space remains safeguarded for future generations. Furthermore, the Planning Inspectorate has held LRCH accountable for its "unreasonable behaviour" throughout the planning process, awarding legal costs to a number of organisations, including Buglife, National Highways, Kent Wildlife Trust and others. This recognition of wasted resources underscores the importance of due diligence and respect for environmental regulations in major development proposals.

8/2/17 - We Won! Great news this morning, the London Assembly unanimously voted to support us to establish a UK AIDS Memorial in London. A long way to go but this is a very important first step forwards. "Thanks to some lovely moving speeches from Assembly Members every single one was won over and it was voted for unanimously. A brilliant result and shows the campaign has real support here!" said Sian Berry. Thanks so much to everyone who signed the petition and especially to Sian Berry (Greens), Caroline Pidgeon (Liberal Democrats), Stephen Twigg (Labour), GMFA and 38 Degrees who paved the way for this to get this far. This is long over due, we must remember those 21,0000 British citizens who lost their lives, as well as all those worldwide. AIDS is not over. Many live with HIV and new infections are found each day. We must fight on together. London can one day stand proud with so many other cities worldwide, who already have built AIDS memorials. Thanks to you the campaign was a success and the buildings have been saved! We haven't stopped there, working with architect John Burrell we have devised a scheme to bring the buildings back into use, addressing Kings' concerns, and improve the urban environment around them. We are preparing the scheme as a publication of several drawings that will be distributed in hard copy and as an e-brochure in September. UPDATE - 27/06/15 - You may already have heard the great news that the new owner of the Brighton Hippodrome, Academy Music Group (AMG), has given us a six-month window to move forward with plans for restoration of this magnificent building. We will now be working on developing the business proposition. You will be able to follow the ongoing progress of the project at ourhippodrome.org.uk Thanks again for all your support. 14/05/2015: On the 30th the BBC featured interviews with the three major party leaders - including a question to each on child care funding!

06/07/18 We won! The Mayor's office conceded that there are no rules prohibiting inflatables in Parliament Square Gardens, and that an inflatable effigy of a political figure does in fact constitute legitimate protest!
