NHS England's scorecard Denies Access to Treatment for Ultra Rare Diseases19/12/2014: Following the threat of a legal challenge by a 10 year old boy with Morquio, NHS England have announced that they are abandoning the scorecard and are going back to the drawing-board on their approval process. We are really pleased that the petition and threat of legal action has forced NHS England to develop a fair decision making process for ultra-rare diseases - thank you to everyone who signed.8,945 SignaturesCreated by Christine Lavery

Michael Gove: Don't scrap climate change educationBrilliant news - Michael Gove has abandoned his plans to drop climate change from the curriculum! And the papers are reporting that it was the “widespread support” for our campaign that persuaded him to change his mind. As a teacher, it means so much to me to know that young people will have the opportunity to understand climate change and how it will affect their lives. It’s only by educating children about what their future will look like that we can give them the chance to shape it for the better. The outpouring of support for our campaign was incredible. More than 37,000 of us came together with campaigners from the UK Youth Climate Coalition and People & Planet. We signed petitions, wrote letters and took our campaign right to Gove’s Department for Education. Thank you so much to everyone who stood with me to do this. It couldn’t have happened without you.37,089 SignaturesCreated by Margaret Hunter

Goodwin Sands SOS - Stop the Dredge!Great news! 03/11/22 The news we have all been waiting for has at last arrived! The Port of Dover recently announced that it has abandoned its plans to dredge the Goodwin Sands for landfill for their port development. As you can imagine, after six and a half years of campaigning this news is extremely welcome as it clearly shows that development does not need to come at the expense of the environment. We would like to thank you all for your encouragement, donations and support, without which we would not have achieved this positive outcome. This campaign has definitely been a huge joint effort. We would like to recognise the support provided by our MP Natalie Elphicke who understood both the need for the port development and our concerns for the marine environment. We have no doubt that she was instrumental in encouraging the Port of Dover to source the necessary landfill elsewhere. Despite this result being a vindication of all we have fought for, we know this is just a battle won, not the whole war and we will not be resting on our laurels. We are acutely aware that assurances need to be sought from all the major stakeholders including The Crown Estate, the Environment Agency and the Marine Management Organisation that they will never allow the Goodwins to be exploited ever again. Thank you again for staying with us over the past six years and we look forward to keeping you updated on our continued work to Save Our Sands. Best wishes, Joanna and Fiona16,963 SignaturesCreated by Joanna Thomson

Protect rural Hampshire: Stop the Barton Stacey IncineratorMany of you will have seen the fantastic news that plans to build an incinerator at Barton Stacey have been scrapped. The MPs, campaign leaders, councillors, residents and others who have contested the plans, or have agitated and informed all deserve huge credit. As North West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse - who campaigned against the plant alongside Caroline Nokes MP - said, “This is great news and a tribute to the community’s campaign against this project”. Thank you, too, for signing this petition that played a small part in illustrating our collective opposition.2,963 SignaturesCreated by Gavin Lockhart-Mirams

Pay £400 energy payments to Northern Ireland households as soon as possible19/12/22 Great news! Due to the pressure you put them under, the government have agreed to pay out the £600 energy support to households in Northern Ireland in January! We'll have to keep an eye on them to see exactly how it happens, but this is a big win and you helped play a part in it. And we know it'll be a big relief to people with the news coming just before Christmas. This is what our community is all about - showing up and never giving up. This wouldn't have been possible without your support. Thank you!
