Successful Campaigns

Great News! Dear Supporters Just to inform you that several flights have now landed with hundreds of travellers and our daughter is back home. Thank you to all who signed and shared this petition, to the MPs who pushed for this to happen, to the staff at the Foreign Office and the Peruvian authorities, to Zoe and Caspar whose daughter was travelling with our daughter and were tremendous in their support and help. It is a huge relief to us and I'm sure, all other families and friends. Thank you to 38 degrees for helping and empowering people like us in difficult situations. We are aware that there might still be people in Peru who have not been able to get on the flights. It's important for them to contact the British Embassy, to via help@fco Best wishes Pablo

UPDATE - 27/06/15 - You may already have heard the great news that the new owner of the Brighton Hippodrome, Academy Music Group (AMG), has given us a six-month window to move forward with plans for restoration of this magnificent building. We will now be working on developing the business proposition. You will be able to follow the ongoing progress of the project at ourhippodrome.org.uk Thanks again for all your support. It means a lot to us—and to the Hippodrome!

The public pressure became too much and Mooboo will now pay all staff for every hour they work, whether trail shift or training.

Update 24/3/15: Today we can announce that Achievement Bute has been saved! Argyll and Bute Council and Achievement Bute have now reached a funding agreement which will support Achievement Bute in developing a sustainable service in the future to support children with special needs, and their families, on Bute.

Great news, after running a campaign for 48 hours, 38 Degrees members have put enough pressure on Riverford farm to ban fox-hunting from all Riverford land, not just the land run by the organic veg company. Read more here: http://blog.38degrees.org.uk/2014/10/20/riverford-fox-hunting-victory/

The trust stepped in and really pressurised the private company (ISS). The reduction in staffing numbers they proposed in the beginning was drastically reduced, and they only let a few people go in the end, and most of these were people were wanted voluntary redundancy for whatever reason. This is a massive reduction from the 89 proposed in the beginning. They made no cuts to security staff. However in the catering department ISS proposed that they would start to cut the canteen at 2.30pm during the day and that it wouldn't be open on the weekend at all any more - a disaster in a 24 hour working hospital! We started an internal campaign about this.
