Save our Ambulance10/07/14 -Great News! North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust have suspended their proposals to reduce Ambulance cover on nights in Carlisle and the Rapid Response Vehicle RRV in Penrith on nights as part of a cost improvement plan. Indeed they have decided to suspend all frontline service cuts throughout all of the North West. The reason is that NWAS have received additional monies that is non-recurrent but will cover the cost of reducing frontline services for this year. Our campaign has therefore been successful but will continue again next year if NWAS decide to adopt similar proposals. Our petition was presented at No 10 Downing Street last week and totalled 11,500 signatures which included this online petition. Thank you for you support. Festival of Making: Drop BAE SponsorshipThe Festival of Making has issued a statement saying it has refused BAE sponsorship. It has also removed the BAE logo from its website. This closely follows our successful petition last year, when BAE withdrew as a sponsor of the Great Exhibition of the North. With your help, we are showing that BAE Systems cannot art-wash its corrupt arms deals.326 SignaturesCreated by Art Not Arms

Ban Dangerous Pesticides in Newton AbbotI wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has signed this petition. Many of you will be aware of the toxicity of glyphosate and understand the need to ban this dangerous chemical. I am pleased to be able to report to you all that the council supports a ban on glyphosate and is looking into what pesticides are currently used to be able to confirm or implement a glyphosate free policy. This may take some time and in the meantime I will be closing the campaign to reflect the council's action in this matter.920 SignaturesCreated by Jessica Ford

Say No to 19 storeys in CatfordUPDATE! 5/9/16 Lewisham Council’s Planning Dept have just confirmed that Barratt London have finally withdrawn their planning application for a 19 storey tower. They will instead implement the original consent for an 8 storey block on the site between the stations. This is a fantastic victory for sustained grassroots community action, and could not have happened without the support of all 1639 of you. A big thank you to everyone who turned out for the crucial Planning Committee meeting in March: this massive demonstration of local opposition contributed hugely to this wonderful final outcome. And special thanks to all those who helped spread the word locally, e.g. by distributing leaflets. We could not have summoned up such powerful and effective opposition without you.1,658 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Armstrong
