  • No to New Parking Restrictions for Residents/local Businesses by Tower Hamlets Council
30/01/18 - We Won! As a result of your support, I am pleased to report that, at least for now, the Council has decided not to proceed with the changes in the zone(s) specified. This result shows petitions work - not always - but it can make a difference. Together we can aspire for and achieve positive change and a fair society. I will keep an eye on any further development and keep you posted.

  • Campaign to save the Camp public house St Albans
UPDATE 15/07/15: We Won! Last week the council accepted the application and the pub has been listed as an Asset of Community Value! The first of its kind in St Albans I would like to thank all those who signed and helped get some protection for this community local. This is only the first step on what could be a long fight with the developers who now own the Camp to get the pub re-opened. Thank you again for your support. • Stop the plans to develop a Subsidiary Company (SPV) in Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
We Won! 14/08/18 There has been an announcement this morning from a union whose members were among those going to be transferred to this company which says the Trust has changed its mind. "At a meeting Monday morning UNISON stewards received confirmation from Director Mark Braden that the Trust has stopped all work, both for now and in the future, on forming a Wholly Owned Subsidiary company." Thanks to our pressure with the leaflets sent to the Board, and the petition, combined with the voices of local MPs, the staff at the hospitals due to be affected, are very pleased to remain 100% NHS. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/mps-urge-mid-yorkshire-hospitals-trust-to-ditch-staff-transfer-plan-1-9282554 Thanks for getting behind this issue. It shows that when people get together they can effect change for the better. WE WON!!!!!

  • Refugees Welcome in Lincoln
I handed in the 'Refugees Welcome in Lincoln' last Friday morning (11th September) and today I have just read on The Lincolnite that the council has agreed to take 200 Syrian refugees (link below). This is brilliant news. I am certain that the petition will have played its part in convincing the council to make a humanitarian response to the plight of the Syrian people. http://thelincolnite.co.uk/2015/09/lincolnshire-in-line-to-support-200-syrian-refugees/
