Stop cuts to IVF in Bristol, North Somerset and South GloucestershireWe won! 18/11/17 Dear friends, I'm over the moon to have such a happy update for you all - the local CCGs have withdrawn their proposed cuts to IVF in Bristol and the surrounding areas. An amazing result! Thank you so much for getting involved in the campaign. More than 1,200 of you signed this petition, and 629 individuals filled out the consulation. 90% of respondents disagreed with the proposals to cut the age limit for women eligible for IVF to 30-35. Some of the comments that individuals left in the consulation are included in this report, and make for quite heartbreaking reading. As part of the decision to withdraw the proposals, the CCG noted their concern that "the risk of a legal challenge is high given the inequality in respect of age which will be exacerbated by this proposal". Too right! I've said it before and I'll say it again - nobody wants to go through IVF. It is a treatment of last resort for women and couples that can't start a family. Our NHS needs to be funded properly so that it can be there for everybody that requires treatment. Sadly, on the same day that we found out Bristol CCG have withdrawn their unfair plans, a nearby CCG (BANES) anounced similar cruel proposals to cut IVF. Please do fill in their consultation and tell them to stop targeting women and couples desparate to try for a family: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/fertilitytreatment A massive thank you again for your support. This simply wouldn't have happened without you all signing this petition and filling in the consultation. KEEP HOLLINS VIEW OPEN19/12/2014: At a Cabinet meeting on 9 December, the Leader of Cheshire East Council, Michael Jones announced that Hollins View would stay open until December 2015. We are overjoyed with the news, but know that this is only a temporary measure and the service is still under threat. However, without your help the service would have already been lost. We are closing the petition now and hope to start again in 2015 to try to ensure that this valuable facility stays open.1,095 SignaturesCreated by Laura Jeuda

Hackney Downs Zebra CrossingUPDATE - 04/-4/16 We won! You may already have walked across it…. the zebra crossing which we’ve been campaigning for is now a reality! Nearly 1000 people signed the petition and Hackney Council heard our campaign – they agreed that the junction between Downs Road and Rendlesham Road needed to be made safer. Over the last few weeks the diggers and road builders have been busy at work and now the zebra crossing is officially open! This is already making lives safer and the experience of crossing the road from Hackney Downs much less stressful.964 SignaturesCreated by Jonathan Ashworth

Save our Ambulance10/07/14 -Great News! North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust have suspended their proposals to reduce Ambulance cover on nights in Carlisle and the Rapid Response Vehicle RRV in Penrith on nights as part of a cost improvement plan. Indeed they have decided to suspend all frontline service cuts throughout all of the North West. The reason is that NWAS have received additional monies that is non-recurrent but will cover the cost of reducing frontline services for this year. Our campaign has therefore been successful but will continue again next year if NWAS decide to adopt similar proposals. Our petition was presented at No 10 Downing Street last week and totalled 11,500 signatures which included this online petition. Thank you for you support. Declare a Climate EmergencyWe won! The council caved in to pressure and the effort of so many people including about 900 in total who signed the petition both on and off line, to all our activists who braved the cold outside Highland Council buildings and particularly the hard work of Cllr Pippa Hadley submitting the amendment (seconded by Cllr Andrew Baxter) and declared a climate and ecological emergency and agreed to work towards a carbon neutral highlands by 2025. Give a home to asylum seekers in YorkUPDATE: 17/09/15 We have handed in our petition yesterday and with over 1300 signatures it felt great. What seemed like a lot of empty words, by our head of York Council Chris Steward, was challenged and questioned by other 38degrees members and myself. Last night the council announced to take on 60 refugees over the next five years. A great start but we still need to keep behind it to make sure we start acting now and not only within the next five years. We also asked Councillor Steward as our representative to the government to push for quick action which will take place now and won't be delayed longer. He told us the answer to most of the questions will be he doesn't know yet. So let's keep up the good work to make sure actions speak louder than words. Here is a picture of the handover yesterday: https://www.flickr.com/photos/7617572@N07/21455441602/in/photostream/ A press article regarding the handover: http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/13738936.1_200_sign_petition_calling_for_York_to_do_more_to_help_refugees/ And the link to my interview on BBC Radio York yesterday morning. Listen to it at about 1h13mins in: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p031cr16#play Thank you again so much for your support. The petition would have been nothing without you!
