Successful Campaigns

The link road will be built. In July this year Devon County Council agreed that the link road will be built, and the funding has been agreed. It may take another 2 years to actually be built, it's now all dependent on agreements and contracts etc.

From 20th April 2025, Stagecoach will be running three buses an hour on the number 2 bus route, and will include a more direct route too. Success at last, campaigning works!

04/03/15 Update: We did it! The council refused the application and respected the ancient woodland that we hold so precious. Thank you so much for signing.

Update May 2015: After huge public pressure, Thomas Cook have now apologised to the family of the two children who died from carbon monoxide poisoning, and have said they'll donate £1.5 million to Unicef: http://38d.gs/1PNzxC9

23/07/14 - Sainsburys are not opening a store on South End Green! "This is a seismic victory for the community who have acted with one voice to inform the senior management teams of the landlords, Dorringtons and Sainsburys of their concerns. ...Well done to you all. The world seems a better place to live today and by working together and continuing to nurture the connections that we have all made through this campaign, we can all secure a better tomorrow."

B&Q have responded to the petition and made a donation of £8,000. Alex, Colin, Sarah and the rest of the team would like to thank everyone who supported putting pressure on B&Q to make a donation and of course to B&Q for then donating £8,000. The Daily Mirror who ran the B&Q promotion in question are also donating £1,000!

We won! 14/03/17 - The services have been taken off the list for cuts!

UPDATE: 6/11/14: A victory! Plans to quarry in Hopwas Woods have been withdrawn because of public opposition. This is really great news for everyone who supported the campaign by signing the petition and getting involved through the Facebook page. 10/04/15: Historic Scotland recently announced that "We have now put on hold indefinitely preparations for introducing admission charges at the Cathedral".
