UPDATE 01/04/16 Thank you for signing the petition Stop the Bridge Inn Rotherham welcoming racists and fascists. The pressure we have brought to bear on the brewery has paid off as they have confirmed that they will no longer host the EDL or other far right groups. BBC Radio Sheffield are calling it a victory for people power.

14/06/24 - We won! Post Office hero Alan Bates – who has led a 20-year campaign to expose the Horizon computer system scandal – is to receive a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours! This follows over 100,000 of us signing this petition calling for his tireless effort to be recognised. 13/12/17 Well over a month since the launch of our campaign to keep Stroud Subscription Rooms in public hands, KOSP is delighted that Stroud District Council (SDC) has recently voted to opt for leasing the Sub Rooms rather than for a sale to the private sector. As far as it goes, this is a considerable victory. IT IS GREAT NEWS! STROUD HAS SUCCESSFULLY STOOD UP FOR THE SUBS! Thank you all so much for your support; as the excellent editorial in today’s Stroud News & Journal says, it was the people of Stroud – yourselves! – rising up with a united voice that turned things around, and in true Stroudie tradition! The people of Stroud can now focus on creating a progressive solution anchored in the diversity, skills and needs of our community. From our extensive campaigning it is clear that Stroud believes that through working together and collaboratively, we can meet the challenge of scarcity and austerity, making the Subs into a vibrant hub for arts and culture in the widest sense, for all the community.

10/04/22 VICTORY! THE ANIMAL WELFARE (SENTIENCE) BILL HAS NOW BEEN PASSED BY PARLIAMENT. THEREFORE, THE AMENDMENT ASKING THAT DECAPOD CRUSTACEANS AND CEPHALOPODS SHOULD BE RECOGNISED AS BEING SENTIENT HAS BECOME LAW! Thank you for all your support over the years. Your voices have made a substantial difference during this long struggle. Let us hope this is a step towards a kinder Britain. This will not only be better for animals but also for humans as well. After all, kindness is its own reward, something substantiated not least by modern psychology. However, we cannot rest on our laurels. Although this is a major step forward, it will be necessary to change the rules and regulations controlling how these animals are treated. This should now be much easier. We must also change how other invertebrates are treated like, for example, bivalves such as scallops, oysters and mussels. Millions of scallops, for instance, are caught by UK vessels each year. So, we may be asking for your support again sometime in the future. UPDATE: 25/04/16 After a heated council debate on the 19th April, the council have agreed that all public toilets currently open will remain open! But unfortunately they are not going to provide temporary toilets while the Beeston interchange is redeveloped. Many thanks for all your support in this campaign.
