The Old Mother Redcap, Bradway.
Re-open The Old Mother Redcap.
Re-employ Mr. Hall and Miss. Young
Re-employ Mr. Hall and Miss. Young
Why is this important?
The Old Mother Redcap had been closed for approx. 9 months.
This beautiful little pub was the heart of the local community in Bradway and many patrons were devestated that it closed it's doors.
On 2nd June 2018, a young couple, Mr Callum Hall and Miss Nicole Young, took over as the Managers of the much loved Old Mother Redcap.
The people of Bradway were delighted to see their old haunt open again!
Day after day, the Redcap would be full of old friends who had not had a chance to see each other in such a long time, along with new patrons who had heard the Redcap was open again!
The old and the new patrons would converse about how fantastic it was to see the Redcap open again, how well the new Managers were doing.
The managers had big plans, organising the old "bingo lottery" that had once been played at the establishment, preparing to start serving food, even starting a collection for St. Lukes.
Alas, this all came crashing down on Mr. Hall and Miss. Young on the morning of the 14th of June 2018, not even 2 weeks after re-opening.
Mr. H. Smith decided to close the Redcap back down AGAIN.
He complained about the number of days that the pub had been closed during the 2 weeks of opening.
Yes, the Redcap did have to close....
This is for reasons out of the Managers control.
Who was to know that a water pipe would burst UNDERGROUND and that there would be NO WATER in the pub.
How could they wash the glasses, so that every drink could be poured into a new glass?
How would the toilets be flushed?
Who was to know that the re-opening of The Redcap would be so popular that they would run out of ALL the alcohol?
The customers had LITERALLY drunk the pub dry!!
Day after day, Mr. Hall and Miss. Young faced numerous problems, and yet day after day they would open the Redcap with nothing but a smile on their faces and a warm welcome for the customers.
Mr. H. Smith did not even have the decency to speak to Mr. Hall and Miss. Young himself.
He sent his Stocktakers to do the dastardly deed.
They have given Mr. Hall and Miss. Young just 2 weeks to move out of the flat above the Redcap, the place they had called home.
Mr. Hall and Miss. Young have now lost everything.
Their home, their jobs, THEIR DREAMS!
The community are astounded at the way Mr. H. Smith has treated the young couple.
Many have emailed or wrote letters directly to Mr. H. Smith to share their dissapointment.
This petition will probably not influence Mr. Smith into re-opening The Old Mother Redcap or even re-instating Mr. Hall and Miss. Young BUT it may help the young couple re-coup the money they have tied up in the legal bond scheme that Mr. Smith is refusing to release.
Please, show your support to this amazing young couple who have been treated so unfairly by signing and sharing this petition.
