Build a 10-storey Martian sculpture to attract tourists to Burnham-on-Crouch
MDC are currently planning to spend limited government grant money, intended to develop the costal economy by attracting tourists, on a 21m mast and rigging in Burnham.
This will not attract as many tourists as something more interesting and eclectic, like a HG Wells-inspired 21m Martian tripod - which celebrates one of the most notable mentions of the Dengie and the Crouch in 19/20th Century literature - and would bring visitors from all over the world.
We, the undersigned, believe MDC should fell the mast and erect a Martian instead.

Why is this important?
There is only a limited amount of money available now and it should be maximised to attract as many visitors as possible in the long term.
How it will be delivered
This will be presented to Maldon District Council in the most appropriate fashion.
