Dog Fouling Prestwick
Enforce the dog fouling fixed penalty order. The fine for dog owners who fail to pick up after their pets has been doubled by the Scottish Parliament. The fixed penalty for dog fouling was increased from £40 to £80 to bring it in to line with the fine for littering. ... The Dog Fouling (Fixed Penalty) (Scotland) Order 2016 took effect from 1 April 2016. The council have the power to hand out these fines but do not currently impose them.
Why is this important?
The seafront at Prestwick and the roads leading down to it are constantly fouled. This impacts on the whole community and gives a bad name to the majority of dog owners who take responsibility for their animals.
