To: Sidcup Partners BID

Exempt schools in Sidcup from the Sidcup BID levy.

Five schools in Sidcup are being compelled to spend thousands of pounds a year against their will to promote the profitability of local businesses. The schools will have to pay this levy with funds that would otherwise be used to educate our children.
The schools are already massively underfunded, they cannot afford this.
The 5 schools are: Holy Trinity Lamorbey, Hurstmere, Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar, Burnt Oak and Birkbeck.
The schools could have easily been exempt from the levy, as similar BIDS have done. Sidcup BID have chosen to include the schools. We believe this to be an outrageous misappropriation of tax payers money.
We ask Sidcup BID to please reconsider your decision to tax the schools.

Why is this important?

Our schools already have limited funds, what they do have needs to be used to educate our children, not to benefit local businesses.
Educating the next generation should be the number one priority in our community.
