Immigration Removal Centres - Habeas Corpus and Inspection of Healthcare Services

Require that detention in immigration removal centres (IRCs) in UK be subject to the same legal supervision as detention in prisons and police stations.
Require that healthcare services in immigration removal centres be inspected by the Care Quality Commission within three months and required to conform to similar standards to those expected of the National Health Service.

Why is this important?

At Yarl's Wood IRC in Bedfordshire 120 inmates are currently on hunger strike on these issues and others. The poor care at Brook House IRC has been exposed on Panorama. Detainees in IRCs are among the most vulnerable people in Britain. They require our support.
