Now that The Pointless Fence Fiasco is in the national press, there will likely be more people coming forward with other stories of how Network Rail behave.
Hopefully this will have an impact. The 478 Friends of Saddleworth at a recent meeting asked NR directly 'after what has happened in Uppermill, what will you do differently, how will your behaviour change?' The response was unclear.
Maybe they will genuinely listen to people who have to live with the consequences of their mistakes rather than just ignore them as has happened here. Maybe they will be less stubborn. Maybe they will demonstrate best environmental practice? Maybe the CEO will even reply to a letter [he has not yet - we find that quite incredible, so arrogant].
Maybe.
One thing for sure, the only time NR has responded so far is when they have had negative press.
Thank you for your continued support.
