Remove the licence to frack

Revoke the 2 existing fracking licences that threaten thousands of people across Scotland's Central Belt.

Why is this important?

The UK government sold two licences to frack in Scotland (Petroleum Exploration and Development Licenes - PEDLs).
Now the Scottish government has been handed control of licensing and this gives them the chance to end the threat to the health of communities across the Central Belt once and for all
PEDL 162 comes up for renewal on June 30th - we say, don't renew it.
PEDL 133 has some years to go - we say, revoke it.
And state that no further licenses will be sold.
INEOS, who own both licences, recently went to court to say the Scottish government doesn't have the power to ban fracking.
But if Holyrood has the power to licence, they also have the power NOT to licence. Support our petition and also contact your MSP and ask them to support us when the question comes up in the Scottish parliament.

Hello good people - there's a typo in the update below - tomorrow is the 27th of June, not the 29th - so definitely the handover is tomorrow, 12.30pm at the Scottish Parliament.

We will present the petition at 12.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday 29th of June) to Mark Ruskell MSP outside the Scottish Parliament. Please come and join us - and please give the petition a last push to get it over 2,000 and do come and join us if you can. Mark Ruskell has put down a question in Parliament:
“To ask the Scottish Government if they can confirm that a) they will use their new powers to withdraw the two existing fracking licences at the earliest opportunity, and b) PEDL 162 will not be renewed when it expires on June 30th” We will keep you up to date with the campaign.

We're over the 200 now - but that's not going to be enough. Today it was announced INEOS boss Jim Ratcliffe is getting a knighthood, thanks to the UK government's obsession with money and fracking. We want the Scottish government to give a different message - no licence to frack here. So send out to all your friends, family, work colleagues - we need 2,000 signatures by June 28.
