18/08/17 - We won! Hi Everybody, Thank you all for your support ... it made a big difference' Aberdeen City Council are now going to erect a Statue in the Shiprow, Aberdeen Harbour in memory of the generations of Trawlermen and Fish Quines who worked in the trawling industry ... Sadly all gone now .... I shall now close the petition ... thanks a million Robin

UPDATE: 16.9.16 We'd like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for signing the petition calling on our government to scrap their planned caps to Local Housing Allowance - plans that would push thousand of vulnerable people out of their homes and put them at drastically increased risk of homelessness. We have some good news! Earlier today Damian Green, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, announced that housing benefit caps for supported housing will be deferred until 2019/20.

01/02/18 - We Won! On February the 1st, I presented full council with the 5,623 signatures of the ‘Open Brighton's Homeless Shelters 365 days a year’ petition and made an appeal to the room. After some debate, there was then a vote on expanding the provision of services to those already homeless. In a stunning repeat of last year’s unanimous vote, the council have now agreed - without abstentions - to send an extra £25,000 for night shelters, bringing the total to £160,000. This is an amazing result, and you played a key part in it. I’m so proud of what we achieved, as you should be.

You did it! The tide of public support and the goodwill of Wirral Council and Nautilus in response to SAVE's campaign and the Echo's coverage has brought forth a deal to save this much-loved building - an amazing 11th hour rescue package. Well done!

The museum is saved! After more than 45,000 people signed petitions to protect the science museums in the north of England, Culture minister Ed Vaizey announced that the museums would not be given the proposed 10% budget cut and that there was "no question of them closing." The MP for York Central said: "All the campaigning and all the warnings sent to the government that it would be an act of cultural vandalism if one of these museums were to close appears to have been heeded." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22948171

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority have agreed to proceed with investigating the options available to them in the sale of FirstBus. They made reference to the petition in their decision meeting and accepted the initial petition signatures. Future decisions will be required by the Combined Authority on this so further public action may be needed once the options open to them become clearer.

28/03/18 We are delighted and relieved to hear that the decision has been taken not to take certain cancer and combined chemo/radiotherapy treatments out of Cornwall*. Many people have been campaigning for this to happen and we are so glad that being able to mount a petition via 38 Degrees helped to boost their numbers considerably. It is so important to exert our right to a say in matters of such great importance to us all, and taking part in petitioning, consultations and - where necessary - demonstrations is a vital part of our democracy. People power matters and it works! Dear friends, family and supporters I am very pleased to inform you that Eni UK have announced that they have suspended any plans to carry out seismic testing in Cardigan bay Marine SAC due to the overwhelming public outcry. This is an amazing victory however we will have to watch them closely as previous attempts were slipped through at very short notice so we will have to be vigilant. Thank you all so much for your support and please keep signing and sharing as I still intend to deliver the petition at the end of the week to demonstrate the massive public sentiment and ensure that the UK Government think twice before making rash and reckless decisions such as this.

UPDATE - 28/03/16 - We Won! We were planning a demonstration at the full council budget meeting, but 2 days before this, the Council announced it had received extra funding for the next 2 years for these vital bus services. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you that got in touch, signed and shared this petition - I do not think we could have forced Lincolnshire County Council into a major rethink and change of heart, without your support.
