UPDATE - 12/01/15 - children’s community health services and the inpatient adolescent mental health unit in Bristol have, for now, been saved from privatisation! This is a massive victory for both NHS services in Bristol and the rest of the country. It shows what can be done when service users, staff, members of the public and councillors and MP's work together to hold the public bodies who make decisions about our NHS to account and let them know what we want for our health services.

09/03/19 - Success! "Thank You" to all of you for signing our petition to list College Farm as an Asset of Community Value. Last night the committee at Barnet Council met and unanimously agreed that the Farm should be listed. This is an important step in ensuring the farm stays as an open space for all and does not fall into the clutches of developers and is a great example of "People Power". On 4 November we handed in our petition to NSDC's Castle House, along with an envelope of the Sycamore trees' seeds and a letter from the trees asking for their legacy to continue. We had a huge crowd chanting 'FREE THE TREES' as local children handed in our total 6,081 signatures. It was a real magical community moment. Just twenty minutes after handing in the petition, NSDC formally voted to preserve the trees and Library Garden for good at an Extraordinary Council Meeting. Newark residents and visitors are in huge relief from the outcome. It's been such an emotional rollercoaster for our community, but team spirit, love and passion prevailed.

06/02/21 We won! Under the pressure of this campaign, the developers Clean Slate have capitulated and are now connected to the main drains rather than polute the beautiful river Lambourn. Huge thanks to everyone who signed the petition as this would not have happened with out you.

UPDATE: 29/03/16 - We Won! Many thanks to all those of you who signed the petition, it received 6,202 signatures! And it worked. The petition helped to support our MP, Keir Starmer, in voting against the HS2 bill in the House of Commons last week. We all know that the borough of Camden will suffer terrible damage from the effects of HS2 for over 20 years. In order to vote against HS2, both of Camden's MPs were obliged to defy a three line whip. We are immensely grateful both to Keir Starmer and to Tulip Siddiq (MP for Hampstead and Kilburn) for putting their constituents' interests first. Thank you Keir and thank you Tulip for standing by us in these dificult times.

UPDATE November 2014: The aim for a public meeting to be held by the Heart Of England Trust to discuss their proposals for change and for patients to have their voice heard, has been successfully achieved. However, there are still other very important aims to fulfill, as the fight to save key local hospital services continues. Thus a NEW PETITION has now been set up here to oppose cuts at the hospital.
