Update 19/06/14: The removal directions are cancelled. Hussein is not being deported on 20th June. However Hussein is still at potential risk of deportation in the future, so please keep signing the petition to show your support.

18/10/17 We won! We are now pleased as punch to say that you succeeded. You saved Hove. It will not be wiped off the map. Thank you! This morning, the Boundary Commission for England announced that it had withdrawn its proposals to end historic Hove as an independent constituency. Here's an extract: "The Hands Off Hove campaign, opposing our initial proposal to transfer Hove Park ward to a Brighton North constituency, was signed by 4,515 individuals during our initial consultation period. As they said, ‘Brighton and Hove may be partners in the formation of the city but they vigorously maintain their separate and distinct identities.’ These sentiments were reflected across the bulk of representations mentioning Hove." So thank you again for signing this petition, writing all those letters and emails and supporting the Hands off Hove campaign. Sometimes public consultation and big campaigns work, and this time the strength of your feelings won the day.

12/12/16 Great news! We won! Last Tuesday the Alice Park Trust subcommittee (the body that runs Alice Park) agreed to accept the £97k offered by the council to build a skate park in Alice Park. We look forward to the first set of wheels rolling across our new skatepark!

11/11/18 THANKS TO ALL who have campaigned to raise the alarm about the diabolic plan for 3 reactors on green fields near to Sellafield. The Guardian and other press have reported that: ““Toshiba recognises that the economically rational decision is to withdraw from the UK nuclear power plant construction project, and has resolved to take steps to wind-up NuGen,” Toshiba statement. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/nov/08/toshiba-uk-nuclear-power-plant-project-nu-gen-cumbria ‘NuGen’ is saying it is pulling out of Cumbria and the inference is that is with immediate effect as Toshiba looks to divest completely from nuclear activity. That is brilliant! BUT Toshiba should be made to clear up its mess.

11/11/19 We won! The bus service is to be reinstated on Saturday 23rd November!

UPDATE - 27/06/15 - You may already have heard the great news that the new owner of the Brighton Hippodrome, Academy Music Group (AMG), has given us a six-month window to move forward with plans for restoration of this magnificent building. We will now be working on developing the business proposition. You will be able to follow the ongoing progress of the project at ourhippodrome.org.uk Thanks again for all your support. It means a lot to us—and to the Hippodrome!

Update 24/3/15: Today we can announce that Achievement Bute has been saved! Argyll and Bute Council and Achievement Bute have now reached a funding agreement which will support Achievement Bute in developing a sustainable service in the future to support children with special needs, and their families, on Bute.

UPDATE: 11/11/2016 We did it!! I’m ecstatic! The council have just announced that Belgrave Library will stay open in its current location!
