Keep the A&E department at North Tees Hospital open

18/05/18 We Won !

Fantastic news, the plans to downgrade the A&E at North Tees hospital have been dropped. Thanks so much to the thousands of people supporting this campaign. This is down to people power!

Keep the A&E department at North Tees Hospital open

Please don’t close down the Accident and Emergency Department at North Tees Hospital.

Why is this important?

This is an important asset to people in the local area and especially in the area north of the River Tees. Patients in the north of Hartlepool for example would be faced with a journey of at least 35 minutes. This is unacceptable in an emergency situation.
People could be losing precious, life saving minutes if forced to travel further to recieve treatment.

Reasons for signing

  • UHNT is a highly appropriate location for a public hospital and A&E department. NHS estates officers need to think logically, not just financially, even if the government only thinks in terms of managing decline to justify further privatisation.
  • Its important to maintain emergency services locally. This would mean two large towns of Hartlepool and Stockton on tees without any A&E.
  • we have had wonderful treatment at this hospital - could be an example for other hospitals
