SAVE 40 HEALTHY TREES FROM BEING FELLED IN CASTLEFIELDS PARKUPDATE: 28/07/16 We campaigned against 38 trees being cut down, and I also wrote to the council planning department, raising a list of issues. They listened, though didn't meet with me, but that led to 23 trees being cut down, rather than 38, so we saved 15 trees! Thank you for your kind support, 38 Degrees staff xx.134 SignaturesCreated by Ann Carton

A real roadmap to phase out animal testingAs you may know, the government published their roadmap on 11th November. Our concerns were that it would not contain concrete measures by which to hold them accountable - but I am delighted to report that the strategy does contain a number of excellent measures, as well as publicly reportable outcomes to enable accountability. This is a huge milestone and the biggest progress on this issue ever made by a UK government, so it is genuinely something to celebrate. We would like it to go much further and will continue to work towards that end but we are very pleased that it is a really good start and lays the foundations for meaningful changes, which can be built upon and accelerated with input from groups, organisations and individuals like ourselves. Please read our full statement here: https://www.humanrelevantscience.org/replacing-animals-in-science/ Thank you for your support.5,161 SignaturesCreated by Alliance for Human Relevant Science

Stop the developers attempt to overturn August planning refusal at Prestleigh RoadEvercreech - We WON! 🌳🐷🐽🐖 Every so often, a village proves what it’s really made of. And last week, Evercreech did exactly that. It started with a few worried voices, a muddy field, and the thought that “someone ought to do something.” Well — someone did. You did. More than 300 of us signed the petition, shared it with friends, and turned out to speak up for our countryside. Then came the meeting — packed with villagers, heartfelt speeches, and, yes, even the pig farmer having his say! It was honest, passionate, and deeply rooted in what makes rural England worth defending. And guess what? It worked! The planners and councillors didn’t just hear us — they felt it. They specifically mentioned the petition and the strength of feeling from local people. That combination — your signatures, your words, and your presence — carried real weight. The result? The green fields of Evercreech will stay green! The piglets keep their sunset mud. And we’ve reminded the council that this community won’t be trampled over by glossy brochures and “desktop exercises.” So thank you — each and every one of you — for proving that ordinary people, when they act together, can still move mountains (or at least stop bulldozers). With heartfelt thanks and a muddy pair of boots, Barry O’Leary (on behalf of everyone who stood up for Evercreech’s green lung) 🌿💚🐖334 SignaturesCreated by Barry O'Leary
