Langton Matravers Parish Council voted to declare a Climate Emergency and are arranging an open public meeting to create a climate/environmental strategy and make practical steps.

Worthing Borough Council voted to endorse the call for a fossil Fuel Treaty so we won.

UPDATE: 8/6/16 We've won. Thanks to your support the County Council have backed down and free grammar school transport is safe for at least the next 2 years (see below). Councillor Mrs Patricia Bradwell, Executive Councillor for Children's Services, said: "Having considered the detail of the Task and Finish Group report and the comments and feedback of the Scrutiny Committee, I have decided to keep the current policy as it is with a review in two years' time. Then, the financial climate may be a lot better and give us more scope for change. As it is we are looking at having to make substantial savings which does not give us the flexibility to make changes – any proposed changes would incur further costs on the council. The current grammar school policy is lawful and being administered correctly and while some students will benefit while others won't, it does provide good support for many students who wouldn't otherwise be able to access grammar education. The important thing is for all pupils to have access to good schools, whether grammars, comprehensives or academies, around the county." Once again, Thank you, you've down our children proud Mick

We have heard plenty from those unhappy with measures intended to improve air quality. The council needs to know there are also many people who support cleaner air for Bath, even if it does come at the price of some personal cost or inconvenience.

Update: 3.10.16 Hello All! Today I received an email from the Economy, Transport and Environment Department at Winchester and the traffic proposals have been accepted! The speed limit along Lovedean Lane will be reduced to 40mph! There is no current timeframe on the work, however, and as soon as I receive a report, I will let you all know. Wakefield Council have have listened and decided not to impose parking restrictions at Thornes Park, well done everyone - great teamwork!

Knowing that their was a petition was a real help in exerting pressure on the Council and Network Rail to do the right thing, they have now stripped the ugly white paint and graffiti from the wall.Thank you 38 degrees.
