Autism, no child should suffer in silence
Children with austim and additional needs should be heard and be treated fairly and equally. Their words should be valued and listened to and should not be dismissed because they are unable to clearly express themselves. Autism is not a choice but how we treat people with autism is a choice. It should be mandatory for all school classroom to have cctv to safeguard our children.
Why is this important?
My child with austim made an allegation about his 1to1 support teacher, he said she assualted him. The police said there isn't enough evidence for the police to proceed. His drawings do not count as he can not explain like you and I would do. His traumatic nightmares since the allegation do not mean anything to them. His drawings are a means of communication for him, this is how he explains things. His meltdowns have become severe since this incident
He has not been to school for over a month nor does he receive support at home with his education. Autistic children do not lie, he knows the difference between safe handling and someone hurting him. He needs to be heard, we don't want to suffer in silence. I'm his voice, he should have the same right as other children, he has feelings, he to is human. It's time to become more autism aware, a child shouldn't have to go through a psychological trauma. He can not even explain his emotion, it is easy to label a child but where is the support?
Every child should be heard and no child should be silenced, every child should receive the right support and education. My son is being treated differently because he can not express himself.. Therefore his voice isn't acknowledged as sufficient evidence. Children need to be safe
