Let boys wear shorts in this heat!
Change the law so that in this heat, Secondary School boys are allowed to wear shorts to school, regardless of school policy. Last week, pupils at ISCA Academy in Exeter were told they couldn't wear shorts in 30 degree heat, so they came to school in skirts to protest, however, they should have been allowed to wear shorts in the first place. Why is it OK that girls can wear skirts, but boys can only wear long trousers? Shorts are smart too. Get rid of this silly, out of date policy!
Why is this important?
This is important so that children and young people don't overheat; but also, because it is a silly, old fashioned policy, which suggests trousers are the only smart choice for secondary boys.
