Save Dalmeny Park N7-it's under threat

Stop the "Loss of Public Use" in Dalmeny Park N7.
Stop letting developers into our parks by the back door.
Stop selling off our community assets without public knowledge or consultation.
Save our public spaces for our children.

Why is this important?

WE COULD LOSE OUR PARKS TO DEVELOPERS.
i)A public building -the Keeper's Hut- in Dalmeny Park, one of our few community spaces in St.George's Ward, has been sold off to a private individual to develop. This sets a precedent to allow developers into Islington's public spaces , target any unused buildings and start chopping up our parks. We need to protest and object -stop them in their tracks or we could lose our parks.

Ii) Islington residents have 10cm2 of public space each, it is one of the most crowded boroughs in London. St.Georges Ward, where Dalmeny Park is, has very little public space - tiny Dalmeny Park is it's 2nd biggest space.
To have the Council sell part of it off without public consultation or knowledge is outrageous. If the Council and councillors aren't going to look after the spaces that our children need to play in, we have to be vigilant , protest and make some noise.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
- Go to the planning section of the Islington Council website and click on Application Number P2017/1705/FUL.Object to the planning application under "Loss of Public Use" and other grounds you can think of.
- Write and complain to your local councillors, plus Richard Watts, Leader of the Council, Lesley Seary Chief Executive of Islington etc (e-mail addresses can be found on the Islington Council website) for allowing a public asset -the keepers hut- to be sold off without public knowledge to a private individual to develop. The hut could have been developed for community use or knocked down to enlarge the park.
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TO PROTECT DALMENY PARK (AND ALL OUR PARKS)
