Stop the Street drinking in Exeter
The public spaces protection order is now underway. There are signs up explaining what the PSPO is all about. And says clearly about antisocial behaviour and street drinking is not accepted.
But yet it carries on. Groups of street drinkers approx 10 in number at any time. Sitting in bus shelters drinking there lives away. Also acting unsocially. Leaving bottles and cans all over the place and sometimes used needles left on the streets. Fighting amongst themselves
Reports of people urinating in doorways. These places are stinking. And becoming health hazards. People live here.
There was a report that one street drinkers stamped to death a seigul in front of shoppers. Families children etc. Then the same women who done this vile incident. Yesterday walked across the rd and punched a homeless women in the face.
On Sidwell Street. Exeter.
I don't know about you but I have had enough of this. And had enough off the general public having to deal with the mess. The uncomfort. The worry. The fear of these people. The risk of someone being injured on broken glass or needles.
Not only that but the council rather than moving these people on. The council take away our bus shelters and seating areas. It's a joke we the general public have had enough.
Your children are seing this now on a daily basis. And we don't want them to think this is right or normal. God how will this effect there future of what is right or wrong.
Your pspo is now set up. But the council say it's the police responsibility to sort this out. You made the order ECC now carry it through and make it work with what ever means you need.

Why is this important?
Many people have mentioned how scared they feel to pass in the streets these drunken adults. It is not only worrying people but it's stopping people going to these areas. We need a safer and more comfortable experience when we go to the town. We don't want to see bottles smashed on the floor or human waste of any kind. Or bottles cans food or even needles. Street Drinkers in large groups leave most of these things strewn all over. Sometimes when going to the cash machine There are drunks sat around them. Thats not good.
