Help Shankea obtain indefinite leave to stay in the UK26/12/20 Dear Supporters, Shankea has sent you all this message: "It is with great delight that I can inform you all that I have been granted my legal right to remain in the UK. After 18 years of applications, rejections and tears, I can now breathe and live. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who signed and shared the petition. It goes without saying, I have been through a lot and am currently processing the news. As I embark on my new journey, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers." It is truly great news that Shankea can now, at the age of 31, return to her education or get a job; something she could only previously dream of. She no longer has to fear that knock on the door. But it should never have happened. The system that should have taken care of her, and thousands of others, is broken. Today, we rejoice for Shankea. Tomorrow, we will remember the others who are still fighting for their freedom to live in the country they call home.3,186 SignaturesCreated by Linda Watson

Stop cuts to IVF in Bristol, North Somerset and South GloucestershireWe won! 18/11/17 Dear friends, I'm over the moon to have such a happy update for you all - the local CCGs have withdrawn their proposed cuts to IVF in Bristol and the surrounding areas. An amazing result! Thank you so much for getting involved in the campaign. More than 1,200 of you signed this petition, and 629 individuals filled out the consulation. 90% of respondents disagreed with the proposals to cut the age limit for women eligible for IVF to 30-35. Some of the comments that individuals left in the consulation are included in this report, and make for quite heartbreaking reading. As part of the decision to withdraw the proposals, the CCG noted their concern that "the risk of a legal challenge is high given the inequality in respect of age which will be exacerbated by this proposal". Too right! I've said it before and I'll say it again - nobody wants to go through IVF. It is a treatment of last resort for women and couples that can't start a family. Our NHS needs to be funded properly so that it can be there for everybody that requires treatment. Sadly, on the same day that we found out Bristol CCG have withdrawn their unfair plans, a nearby CCG (BANES) anounced similar cruel proposals to cut IVF. Please do fill in their consultation and tell them to stop targeting women and couples desparate to try for a family: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/fertilitytreatment A massive thank you again for your support. This simply wouldn't have happened without you all signing this petition and filling in the consultation. Protect rural Hampshire: Stop the Barton Stacey IncineratorMany of you will have seen the fantastic news that plans to build an incinerator at Barton Stacey have been scrapped. The MPs, campaign leaders, councillors, residents and others who have contested the plans, or have agitated and informed all deserve huge credit. As North West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse - who campaigned against the plant alongside Caroline Nokes MP - said, “This is great news and a tribute to the community’s campaign against this project”. Thank you, too, for signing this petition that played a small part in illustrating our collective opposition.2,963 SignaturesCreated by Gavin Lockhart-Mirams

List College Farm, Finchley, London on the Community Asset Register09/03/19 - Success! "Thank You" to all of you for signing our petition to list College Farm as an Asset of Community Value. Last night the committee at Barnet Council met and unanimously agreed that the Farm should be listed. This is an important step in ensuring the farm stays as an open space for all and does not fall into the clutches of developers and is a great example of "People Power". This campaign has been run by the Finchley Society, our slogan is "We care for Finchley". If you like what we do why not visit our website at www.finchleysociety.org.uk.
