  • Stop Lincolnshire County Council cutting funding for local bus services
UPDATE - 28/03/16 - We Won! We were planning a demonstration at the full council budget meeting, but 2 days before this, the Council announced it had received extra funding for the next 2 years for these vital bus services. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you that got in touch, signed and shared this petition - I do not think we could have forced Lincolnshire County Council into a major rethink and change of heart, without your support. It shows that when many people stand with a united voice, change is possible. You can watch my speech at full council here from 7 mins - 12 mins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfXRq3OoIOg

  • List College Farm, Finchley, London on the Community Asset Register
09/03/19 - Success! "Thank You" to all of you for signing our petition to list College Farm as an Asset of Community Value. Last night the committee at Barnet Council met and unanimously agreed that the Farm should be listed. This is an important step in ensuring the farm stays as an open space for all and does not fall into the clutches of developers and is a great example of "People Power". This campaign has been run by the Finchley Society, our slogan is "We care for Finchley". If you like what we do why not visit our website at www.finchleysociety.org.uk. Thanks Michael Crick

  • Ban Dangerous Pesticides in Newton Abbot
I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has signed this petition. Many of you will be aware of the toxicity of glyphosate and understand the need to ban this dangerous chemical. I am pleased to be able to report to you all that the council supports a ban on glyphosate and is looking into what pesticides are currently used to be able to confirm or implement a glyphosate free policy. This may take some time and in the meantime I will be closing the campaign to reflect the council's action in this matter.

  • No Zip Wires in Glenridding - Ullswater
13/12/14 - We had a great result & won the No Zip In Glenridding. After an open parish meeting, with Mike Turner of Tree Top Treks & Richard Leafe of the LDNPA being present to answer questions, there was a parish vote held. Mike Turner told us he would not go ahead if the parish did not want the zip wire. The vote was an overwhelming majority in favour of NOT having the Zip Wire instalation at the head of the valley. Good to his word, Mike Turner backed away & sent a statement that can be viewed here: http://www.mountainrun.co.uk/news/power-to-the-people-no-zip-here
