Housing developments should include green spaces.

Make it a legal requirement that developers create areas of nature with trees, gardens etc. This should be put forward with the planning applications, where possible incorporating any mature plants already existing. Somewhere to meet up for parents and children,. retired folks. Allotments could bring a sense of community where wisdom can be shared across the generations.

Why is this important?

Gardens are so small these days with property developers squeezing as many houses as possible into an area. Many of our modern developments are some distance from shops, parks, etc, making it necessary to get in a car every time you leave the house. If it is a very large development a community building should be part of the plan complete with 'green' and what about a village pond!
