Keep Charlton Boulevard Open

We, the citizens of the Charlton and Cribbs ward, petition the South Gloucestershire Council to indefinitely keep Charlton Boulevard open to Hayes Way Concord roundabout for car traffic and to add a yellow box junction on the Hayes Way Concord roundabout towards Charlton Boulevard.

The South Gloucestershire Council is planning to convert this into a bus only lane, and direct the traffic via Patchway Highwood road. This will add over 1,500 car traffic to Patchway roundabout on top of existing 4,000+ car traffic, which is already heavily congested. If it is allowed then it will aggravate the problem for existing Patchway residents as well as Charlton Hayes residents.

Currently, its takes over 30 minutes in the peak office hours to come out of the Charlton Boulevard, which is seriously impacting the residents’ quality of life by increasing pollution, time to travel, and causing anxiety to children and adults equally. Lack of yellow box junction is further instigating loss of over 15,000 equivalent business days to the local economy, which can be invested in family time, businesses or recreation.
