To: minister of transport

keep your driving licence when you are innocent

stop DVLA from revoking driving licences when no (traffic) offence has been committed.

Why is this important?

I have been affected by this ludicrous ruling that allows the DVLA to revoke/suspend driving licences of innocent motorists who have committed no obvious offence!
In my case I am disabled and that makes my car, my legs! Without it I am effectively housebound as taxis are too expensive as a long term alternative and public transport is too dangerous due to a lack of balance (on my part).
This ruling says that a licence may be removed at the decision-maker’s discretion, based on the probability that statistically speaking someone is likely to represent a danger to other road users and members of the public for whatever reason they deem justifiable!! I myself DO NOT feel I have right to abuse the use of the public roads in any way what-so-ever. I’m sure there will be plenty of instances where the removal of a licence is totally inappropriate and perhaps a caution or driver awareness course would be more suitable.
This is the basis of my campaign/petition. Please contact as many people as you can and ask them to sign this petition; also ask people to spread this campaign on-line via email, Facebook, twitter etc. etc. If a substantial number of signatures are collected, then this petition will be presented to the minister for transport for consideration. Any interest shown from famous people would be much appreciated e.g. politicians, councillors, musicians, actors, sports personalities etc.
Thank you for taking the time to read this appeal/petition.
