  • Ban Dangerous Pesticides in Newton Abbot
I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has signed this petition. Many of you will be aware of the toxicity of glyphosate and understand the need to ban this dangerous chemical. I am pleased to be able to report to you all that the council supports a ban on glyphosate and is looking into what pesticides are currently used to be able to confirm or implement a glyphosate free policy. This may take some time and in the meantime I will be closing the campaign to reflect the council's action in this matter.

  • Save our Wirral Community Health Project: BME Health Improvement Service
We’re pleased to let you know that we gained 3,589 signatures as part of our petition and thanks to you our project has been saved for another year! So, thank you! That means, our vital service will continue to reach people from vulnerable and hidden communities who otherwise would not access support with their health and wellbeing. But it doesn’t end there. We still need your support. Plans beyond March 2017 are unclear. We want to ensure that Wirral Council continue to uphold its Public Sector Equality Duty and continues to commission tailored services to meet the diverse needs of Wirral’s BME communities.

  • Stop Staff Cuts at New Malden Post Office
Stop Staff Cuts at New Malden Post Office has been a success! Originally, 4 members of staff were lost, which worked out to 110 hours. This resulted in queue times of, in some cases, 50 minutes! (No exaggeration, we recorded the time!) Thanks to our campaign we have had a massive 75.5 hours restored. The response to our campaign was phenomenal, with the community really getting behind our campaign.

  • Stop the Public Space Protection Order to be implemented by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.
Update - 20/04/16 We Won! Stockport Council has decided not to implement the Public Space Protection Order. Stockport United Against Austerity wrote to Eamonn Boylan, Chief Executive of the Council to raise objections about the effects of the Order on homeless people and concerns that the consultation had not met with Government legislation. He did not reply, but when challenged verbally he said that he was dissatisfied with the 'evidence base' and that it did not justify the Order. Well done everyone, public objection can work! www.stockportunitedagainstausterity.weebly.com

  • Stop the plans to develop a Subsidiary Company (SPV) in Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
We Won! 14/08/18 There has been an announcement this morning from a union whose members were among those going to be transferred to this company which says the Trust has changed its mind. "At a meeting Monday morning UNISON stewards received confirmation from Director Mark Braden that the Trust has stopped all work, both for now and in the future, on forming a Wholly Owned Subsidiary company." Thanks to our pressure with the leaflets sent to the Board, and the petition, combined with the voices of local MPs, the staff at the hospitals due to be affected, are very pleased to remain 100% NHS. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/mps-urge-mid-yorkshire-hospitals-trust-to-ditch-staff-transfer-plan-1-9282554 Thanks for getting behind this issue. It shows that when people get together they can effect change for the better. WE WON!!!!!
