After our well publicised local campaign, I am pleased to announce that the City of London agreed to extend the hours at Artizan Street Community Library. This is fantastic news! In addition to extending the hours the City will also now be trialling a Saturday opening slot for six months. From 14th May 2018 the new Library hours will be as follows: Monday- 8am-7pm Tuesday- 8am-5.30pm Wednesday- 8am-5.30pm Thursday- 8am-5.30pm Friday- 8am-5.30pm Saturday- 9am-1pm This really is tremendous news for the local community and it will now mean that this wonderful resource is available for even more people to use on a daily basis. Thank you to everyone who signed the petition and to the parents who came to the Guildhall last month to hand-in the petition. We couldn't have got this result without all of your support.

30/07/15 - Great News! Following this campaign, Penkridge railway station is going to get a comprehensive repair! The work undertaken will include partial re-roofing, installation of gutter and drainage goods, provision of safe access to internal rooms, including deep clean, render and pointing to external elevations, followed by redecoration. This campaign and petition was picked up by Huffington Post - http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/mental-health-slogan-tees-campaign_uk_59941182e4b00914164150f6 - which caused Pink Boutique, and other online outlets, to stop selling these products that belittle mental health issues. Congratulations Phil Hill!

The link road will be built. In July this year Devon County Council agreed that the link road will be built, and the funding has been agreed. It may take another 2 years to actually be built, it's now all dependent on agreements and contracts etc.

WE WON! Update 7/3/15 - The service has ben kept on but with another service number

After 1,000 people came together to petition the planning committee of St. Pauls Carnival to allow Bris-tek to have a stage at the festival, they listened. Bris-tek are dedicated to showcasing established as well as up and coming sound systems and DJ's. Justin, the petition starter, handed his petition in and the committee listened. A win for people power!

A few days ago counsellor David Harrison from Hampshire contacted me and alerted me to the favorable decisions made by the Red Cross to continue servicing the areas as it has done for the past 60 or so years. Because of our determination, belief in the service  and the necessity of the service I'm pleased to inform you that the service will remain open.

03/10/19 We did it!! Finally!! The 20mph limit was approved at the Council Meeting of the 3rd October Thank you to the 700 local residents who signed the petition and supported the campaign, to the school, the staff, parents & carers & the local shops & of course to the local Labour Party members for their support. We don’t know the timescales for implementation, as the new rules about public questions are really restrictive, but it will go out for statutory consultation initially. The scheme includes an “unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles” sign at the start of Cromer Road, and a review & reset of the current Vehicle Activated Sign (which is pretty pointless where it is currently - set to go off when someone exceeds 30mph, sited within a short distance of the start of the road). CCTV to enforce the school zig zags and the one way system have not yet been approved, but council officers have said they will come back with a proposal at a later meeting. WELL DONE EVERYONE!!! This isn’t the end of the road though. We'll need to keep following up with them to make sure they stick to their promises, which I fully intend to! Thank you! Philippa Whitecross

The council have removed this proposed cut from the budget. The animal park is now safe for 4 years. Now we need to see investment in the park to keep it going for the next generation.
