No confidence in Herefordshire Council's cabinet
Enough is enough. It is time the ruling group on the Council stood down and by-elections be called.
Why is this important?
Everyone who has a link with the beautiful county of Herefordshire, be it as an inhabitant, employee or just having a link, is perpetually aghast at the actions of the ruling group on Herefordshire Council.
Here are but a small number of things that are directly down to the Cabinet.
1 - The construction of a retail development blithely starting in the face of opposition. Compromises and continual squirming meaning the 'sale' of the land upon which the old livestock market stood has gained nowhere near the monetary value it should have.
2 - Financial incompetence - The farce that is the 2013-14 budget, containing the sum of £3.8 million double counted and over £8 million in errors, combined with the absolute refusal of the cabinet to even think it owes the populace and council tax payers an apology.
3 - The budgetary concerns have caused the libraries and museums service to come under threat.
4 - The Edgar Street Trees - The cabinet refuses to engage with the people in any kind of dialogue, taking decisions that affect the overal aesthetics of the city while not even consulting other councillors.
The ruling Cabinet of Herefordshire Council is proving itself to be autocratic, dogmatic and incompetent.
The next council elections are in 2015, but we haven't got two years to stop the systematic wrecking of our county and its services.
