KEEP ACCESS TO BRADWELL SEAWALL OPEN

KEEP ACCESS TO BRADWELL SEAWALL OPEN

Please don't close the path (next to Bradwell Power Station) leading to the Blackwater Estuary and seawall. This petition shows that many people use the path regularly and it needs to stay open, accessible and well maintained. Essex County Council, please officially designate the path as a Public Right of Way.

Why is this important?

YOU USE IT - DON'T LOSE IT
The accessibility to the estuary seawall via the path which runs alongside Bradwell power station is under threat. Although the area has, in the past, been maintained by the power station, the footpath has no official designation. To ensure it remains open and accessible, Essex County Council is being requested to officially designate the path as a Public Right of Way.
There is a petition form in the village shop – which aims to demonstrate to Essex County Council that the path is sufficiently used to justify becoming a Public Right or Way. So if you would hate to lose this access, please sign the petition which asks how long you have been using the footpath. Additionally, you can comment on this post and/or share it with others in the Dengie who also enjoy the benefits of getting to the estuary via this path.

Reasons for signing

  • We have been enjoying access to the beach here for 14 years, it is easy, safe, local access for my two disabled children.
  • The power station have messed up enough of the area, the least that can be done is to allow the public access to the sea wall as they have enjoyed for years
  • Because a large group of us are interested in the WW2 aerodrome and this stops us being able to visit the sea wall by it
