Make Labour NEC respect Democracy and allow FAIR voting in the Leadership election
Remove the deeply divisive and equality destroying, completely undemocratic and gerrymandering voting restrictions put in place this week.
Charging £25 per vote stinks of manipulation and Tory style elitism. It's not at all in the spirit of socialism, inclusion and protection of rights. Values that the Labour Party are supposed to hold dear.
In addition, preventing Affiliates from voting further deepens this despicable decision. It is the British public who are being bullied here, NOT the NEC.
My partner was made redundant in the collapse of SSI UK, last year. He has been a member of Community Union a long time. Even though he is unemployed he is still a paying member. The NEC actions have excluded him from being able to vote. This is plainly and simply undemocratic. I personally joined the party recently. I had been observing Labour politics for some time. The announcement of a leadership motivated me to join. I wanted to vote for a leader, but more than that, secure an effective opposition to the Tory party. The Labour NEC actions have also prevented me from voting. I genuinely feel that the Labour NEC are behaving in a destructive manner, actively seeking to purge members, with these actions. I don't see why else it would happen.

Why is this important?
The actions of the NEC are so undemocratic they do not belong in this country. All across society they have excluded members and supports with bitter choices. This cannot be allowed to go on in The Labour Party.
