Bike Safety

The cycle paths are sporadic in Wrexham and surrounding areas. One minute they are there - then they disappear. They are far too narrow and motorists still seem to think that they 'own' the roads, by driving too close and clipping cyclists/bikes causing injuries.

We want FULL cycle paths across all areas and for them to be clearly marked, larger and away from the roads.

If we are going to get green - we need to get safe.

Why is this important?

Because of the motivational drives to advocate 'cycling' to promote health, minimal uses of cars (reduced car accidents) and to be greener - there are more people on their bikes than ever. If we are increasing the amount of cyclists on the roads, then we need to increase the amount of measurements there are in place to keep them safe from motorbikes and cars. It shouldn't be a case that a cyclist needs to wear a helmet to keep them safe from motorists, they should be AWAY from them completely.
