Save Waltham Forest Door to Store Shopping Service

Update 22/2/15: Our aim of getting funding reinstated for the Waltham Forest Door to Store Shopping campaign has been achieved and funding for the service secured!

Save Waltham Forest Door to Store Shopping Service

Reinstate £27 000 funding for the Door to Store Shopping Service for elderly and disabled individuals in Waltham Forest who wish to remain independent.

Why is this important?

The Door to Store Shopping Service serves 119 elderly and disabled individuals offering home to store shopping service. The once a week journey enables individuals to continue to live independently, provides gathering everyday essentials with social interaction and for many is the only day out of the house in a week.

How it will be delivered

We are campaigning to achieve 4000 signatures to enable a debate at full council. We will provide transport for our members to the Town Hall to hand over the petition once 4000 signatures have been achieved

London Borough of Waltham Forest

Reasons for signing

  • Our son who lives in Walthamstow has a disability which may give rise for his need for this this service in the future.
  • No more austerity to be imposed on the vulnerable residents of Waltham Forest!
  • Although council budgets are under great pressure surely a Labour council must have, as a priority, the protection of the most vulnerable members of the community.
